What are the operating dates for Tippecanoe?Tippecanoe operates seasonally from May 21 to September 8, depending on weather conditions.

I made my reservation. What do I do now?Everyone needs to come and pick up the key, life jackets, and paddles from our building in South Rolly Campground before hiking out to your destination.

Where do I pick up my gear?Directions: Nancy Lake State Recreation Area is a ninety-minute drive north of Anchorage along the Parks Highway. To enter the recreation area, turn west onto Nancy Lake Parkway at Mile 67.3 of the Parks Highway. From there, the Nancy Lake Parkway travels 6.5 miles southwest to South Rolly Lake. At the end of the road turn left into the campground. We are in the shack on the lake.

How do I reserve the public use cabins?Tippecanoe only rents canoes, kayaks, and SUP. The Cabins belong to the State of Alaska. Visit the Alaska State Parks -PUBLIC USE CABINS website here and follow the directions.

I made my reservation. What do I do now?Review Confirmation Details: Check your email for a reservation confirmation from Tippecanoe. This email should include important information about your booking, such as the date, time, equipment reserved, and any additional services. Complete Required Waivers: Within the confirmation email, you'll find links to necessary waivers. Ensure that you and all members of your group sign these waivers prior to your arrival.Tippecanoe Alaska Prepare for Your Adventure: What to Bring: Personal items such as appropriate clothing, footwear, and any snacks or drinks you might need. A valid fishing license if you plan to fish. Licenses can be purchased through the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. Safety Considerations: If you're unfamiliar with the area or the equipment, consider reviewing safety guidelines or reaching out to Tippecanoe staff for advice. Arrive at the Designated Location: On the day of your adventure, meet the Tippecanoe team at their paddle shack located within the South Rolly Campground. The address is Mile 6.5 Nancy Lake Parkway, Willow, AK 99688 Equipment Pickup and Orientation: Visit our building inside South Rolly Campground Upon arrival, the Tippecanoe staff will provide you with the keys, paddle, and lifejackets and offer a brief orientation to ensure you're comfortable and informed about your gear and the area. Enjoy Your Adventure: Head out to your chosen destination. With everything in place, embark on your chosen activity—be it canoeing, kayaking, paddleboarding, or fishing—and immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Nancy Lake State Recreation Area. Post-Adventure Procedures: After your excursion, return the equipment to the same location unless otherwise instructed.
